There are various way to maintain healthy functioning of the digestive system which

include consumption of foods abundant in prebiotics and probiotics Prebiotics are foods

rich in dietary fibre which promotes the growth of good bacteria. Probiotics are live

bacteria found in foods that confer beneficial effects to the body.

Top Foods To Improve Digestion

Yogurt

Eating yogurt, curd or buttermilk daily, eases digestion and keeps several gut issues at a

bay.

Fennel

Fennel relaxes smooth muscles in intestine, alleviate various digestive issues like bloating,

flatulence and cramping.

Whole Grains

Whole grains cereals such as whole wheat bread, steel cut oats, quinoa and brown rice are

loaded with fibre that help in easing digestion.

Ginger

Consume it in moderation, as more than 4 grams of fresh or dried ginger may cause

heartburn.

Apple

It lowers the risk of intestinal infections and inflammation in the colon.
